Soup Kitchen

FOOD IS ALWAYS NEEDED FOR THE SOUP KITCHEN
PBJC volunteers to run the soup kitchen at the Community Soup Kitchen of Morristown every month with a 5th Sunday.

Our next Soup Kitchen Commitment is Sunday, November 29th. Please consider being a participant in this congregational community service commitment.

Food commitments are really needed. THE NUMBERS OF PEOPLE COMING TO THE SOUP KITCHEN HAVE SHARPLY RISEN, IN THE PAST WE’VE HAD LOW 100’S, BUT RECENTLY THEY HAVE COUNTS OF 150 GUESTS. The current economy has brought more people to the soup kitchen to help make ends meet. For some individuals or families, this is their main meal of the day.

The following food is really needed: Lettuce / Pre-washed salad in bags, salad vegetables, gallons of milk, whole wheat bread, individually packaged snacks. We can use some servers too.  If you can donate any food please let me know in advance.  Please note, there will be NO drop off on that Sunday in the Synagogue lot, but you can get food to Judy up until Sunday morning at 8:15. Call or email with any questions, and to let us know what food you will be bringing! If you can’t pick up an item but would like to help you can get money to Judy who will buy necessary items.

“Our Three Boys Fund”

Last year we collected money for “Our Three Boys Fund” that was donated to JNF to help plant a garden of trees in memory of Gilad, Eyal, and Naftali – the three boys who were kidnapped.
