About the Nursery School

Pine Brook Jewish Center Nursery School's mission is to provide a warm and nurturing environment for young children that encourages and supports their natural curiosity about the world in which they live and play. We are an integral part of Pine Brook Jewish Center, but children of all faiths are welcome to attend the school. Our dual secular and Judaic curriculum provides opportunities for play, hands-on learning experiences, independent exploration and group experiences. Our programs begin at 12 months of age and continue through the four-year-old pre-kindergarten class. Our teaching staff and enrichment programs create a unique environment that fosters a positive Jewish identity and a love for Judaism, while creating a sense of community for our children, families and staff. These elements build a strong learning foundation for years to come All classes learn about secular and Jewish holidays and take part in a weekly Shabbat celebration.

Philosophy
The basic philosophy of our program is to develop and nurture a child's cognitive, physical, social and emotional development by taking into account each child's individual interests, experiences, and learning styles. All of our classrooms are environments where young children feel respected, trusted, and empowered. We believe that family is an integral part of the preschool program and encourage parent participation in classroom activities and special events. Our professional, enthusiastic, and nurturing staff engages families in a trusting and dynamic learning partnership that creates a sense of community.
